Their legend grew. Every time a North Korean flag was burned or a "W" was spray-painted on a captured tank, the citizens in the valley found a reason to keep breathing. But the cost was high. The occupiers, led by the ruthless Captain Cho, retaliated against the boys’ families, turning the conflict into a deeply personal game of cat and mouse.

The movie ends not with a total victory, but with a beginning. The camera pans over hundreds of citizens emerging from their homes, inspired by the Wolverines, ready to take their country back. The dawn was red, but the day belonged to them.

The transition was brutal. Jed trained them in guerrilla tactics, teaching them how to turn stolen explosives and hunting rifles into a nightmare for the occupying forces. They began with small strikes—cutting communication lines and ambushing supply trucks.

Jed didn’t hesitate. He bundled his brother, Matt, and a handful of their friends into a truck, racing into the dense forests of the Cascade Mountains. Behind them, the city flickered with the orange glow of resistance and the cold blue light of occupation.

Jed fell during the retreat, sacrificing himself to ensure the others made it back to the tree line. As Matt looked back at the smoke rising over his hometown, he realized he wasn't a kid anymore. He was a leader.

Hiding in a damp, makeshift bunker, the group was paralyzed by fear. They were just kids—football players and students—until Jed stood before them.

Jed Eckert, a Marine home on leave, stood on his front porch and watched the horizon darken. It wasn't a storm. Thousands of North Korean paratroopers were blooming against the sunrise like black ink dropped into clear water. Within an hour, the suburban streets were transformed into a chaotic grid of checkpoints and steel.

"We’re not going to wait for the Army," he said, his voice echoing against the pines. "They’re already here. From now on, this mountain is our home, and that valley is our battlefield."
