The film follows (Ice Cube), a former Navy SEAL turned prisoner who is recruited by NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson) to serve as the new "xXx" agent. Stone is tasked with stopping a massive military coup led by the power-hungry Secretary of Defense, George Deckert (Willem Dafoe), who plans to assassinate the U.S. President and seize control of the government.
