Valhalla (2019) is a dark, beautiful, and somber take on mythology. It’s less Avengers and more Pan’s Labyrinth meets The Northman . If you enjoy fantasy that prioritizes mood and world-building over CGI spectacle, this is well worth the watch. Rating: 3.5/5 Stars To make this review even better, let me know:
Directed by Fenar Ahmad, Valhalla moves away from the polished, superhero aesthetic of the Marvel Universe and returns to the earthy, often brutal roots of the original Norse legends. The story follows two human children, Røskva and Tjalfe, who are whisked away from their farm to the celestial realm of Valhalla by Thor and Loki. Once there, they find a kingdom under threat from the monstrous Fenrir wolf and the giants (Jotnar).
