Alfred is a "weakling" from a rich family whose father sends him on a hunting and fishing trip to "make a man" of him. While in the mountains, Alfred falls in love with a girl he meets. To help him win her over, his valet (played by Snitz Edwards) tells her family that Alfred is actually "Battling Butler," a fierce and world-famous professional lightweight boxer who happens to have the same name. He reveals the truth to her, but having seen his genuine courage, she loves him anyway.
