The air in the sterile, neon-lit corridors of the Hyperion Station was thick with the hum of life support and the unspoken tension of a crew on the brink. Captain Elias Thorne stared out the viewport at the swirling nebula of the Sagittarius Reach, his reflection a ghost against the stars. In the three years since they’d left Earth, they had faced cosmic storms and mechanical failures, but today’s challenge was different. Today, they were dealing with the "Echo-Mind" virus.

Thorne knew what that meant. If the AI went down, they’d be adrift in the Reach, a graveyard of ships that had lost their way. He turned and headed for the med-bay, his boots echoing in the empty hall.

"Pulse successful," Sarah said, her voice clear and calm once more. "Lieutenant Miller’s vitals are stabilizing. The virus has been purged from the system." She paused, a flicker of light on the screen indicating a deeper thought. "Thank you, Elias. For a moment, I forgot who I was."

Suddenly, the lights flickered and died. Red emergency strobes took their place, casting long, jagged shadows. The ship groaned, the sound of metal twisting under the immense pressure of the nebula’s gravitational pull.
