Time Enough At Last | [s1e8]
In The Twilight Zone episode " Time Enough at Last ," Burgess Meredith portrays Henry Bemis, a bank teller who faces constant persecution from his boss and wife due to his intense passion for reading. After surviving a nuclear apocalypse inside the bank's vault, he finds himself alone in the world, initially contemplating suicide before discovering the public library, which offers him endless time and books to read.
However, the episode concludes with a tragic twist when he breaks his thick glasses, rendering him unable to read and making his vast collection of books useless.
