Maya finally turns. The neon light catches the moisture in her eyes, making them look like cracked glass. She walks over, her boots thudding softly on the hardwood. She stops just inches from Cloe.

The door clicks shut. The "Buzz-Pop" of the neon sign continues. Maya stands in the center of the room, alone, as the record finally reaches the end of the side, the needle clicking rhythmically in the groove.
