The story is set in the campaign setting. It follows Edgin Darvis (Chris Pine), a charismatic bard and former member of the Harpers. After a heist gone wrong, Edgin is imprisoned and loses his daughter. He teams up with Holga Kilgore (Michelle Rodriguez), a barbarian, to plan a rescue. They form an unlikely party:
