Follow the on-screen prompts to install both FDS (the simulation engine) and Smokeview (the visualization tool).
Navigate to the NIST FDS-SMV Downloads page .
Click on the link for FDS-SMV for Windows (current version 6.10.x, as of April 2026) to download the installer. Run the Installer: Double-click the downloaded .exe file.
