The family spends quality time in Los Angeles before Donnie starts a two-month tour. They head to Donnie’s Simi Valley house to pack, and Jenny and Jojo search for a gift for him.

The couple focuses on family bonding. Jenny and her son Elijah join Donnie for a concert in New York, and the New Kids on the Block visit their former school.

After the loss of a family pet, Macky brings chickens for Evan to cheer him up. Later, Jenny sends Macky on tour with Donnie, where he interacts with the band's fans.

During tour rehearsals in LA, Jenny must return to Chicago for her son Evan’s doctor appointment, missing Donnie's opening night. Donnie confides his disappointment to bandmate Danny Wood.

The couple says farewell to New York and prepares for their move to Chicago. Jenny worries Donnie might regret leaving their "adopted city" and they struggle to tell Jenny’s father, Macky, that he won't be moving in with them.
