Alexa & Katie (2018)2018 Site

The story begins three months before graduation. Alexa, now completely in remission, is hyper-focused on the future. She has been accepted into a prestigious summer internship in New York City, a dream she’s had since before her first round of chemo. Katie, meanwhile, is grappling with the reality of staying behind to help her mom at the Wired Giant and attending the local community college to save money.

On graduation day, as they walk across the stage, it isn't just about finishing school. It's about recognizing that their friendship was the strongest medicine they ever had. The story ends with them sitting on the roof of Alexa’s house one last time, looking at the stars. Alexa hands Katie a bus ticket to New York for every single weekend of the summer. They realize that no matter the distance, they are still the two girls who shaved their heads together—and that version of them is never going away. If you want to keep the story going, let me know: Should I focus more on their ? Alexa & Katie (2018)2018

The conflict sparks when Alexa spends every waking moment planning their "Epic Last Summer," unaware that Katie is quietly drowning in "what-ifs." Katie feels like she’s being left in the dust of Alexa’s regained momentum. During a high-stress rehearsal for the senior play—where Katie is the lead and Alexa is the stage manager—the tension snaps. Katie misses a cue because she’s staring at a tuition bill, and Alexa snaps at her about professionalism. The story begins three months before graduation

The resolution isn't about Alexa staying or Katie leaving. Instead, they spend the weeks leading up to graduation creating a "Legacy Box" for the incoming freshmen at their school who might be going through their own invisible battles. They include notes of encouragement, hidden snacks in the drama department, and a "Best Friend’s Guide to Survival." Katie, meanwhile, is grappling with the reality of

The blowout happens in the parking lot. Katie finally admits she’s jealous—not of the internship, but of how easily Alexa seems to be moving on from the "bubble" that kept them together during the cancer years. Alexa realizes that while she was fighting to get her life back, she forgot that Katie’s life had been on pause right along with hers.

The diagnosis was behind them, the hospital stays were a memory, and senior year of high school was finally here. Alexa and Katie stood in front of the familiar full-length mirror in Alexa’s room, adjusted their graduation caps, and shared a look that said everything they couldn’t put into words.

Version 3.3.10 released

Posted on

GLFW 3.3.10 is available for download.

This is a bug fix release. It adds fixes for issues on all supported platforms.

Binaries for Visual C++ 2010 and 2012 are no longer included. These versions are no longer supported by Microsoft and should not be used. This release of GLFW can still be compiled with them if necessary, but future releases will drop this support.

Binaries for the original MinGW distribution are no longer included. MinGW appears to no longer be maintained and should not be used. The much more capable MinGW-w64 project should be used instead. This release of GLFW can still be compiled with the original MinGW if necessary, but future releases will drop this support.

Version 3.3.9 released

Posted on

GLFW 3.3.9 is available for download.

This is primarily a bug fix release for all supported platforms but it also adds libdecor support for Wayland. This provides better window decorations in some desktop environments, notably GNOME.

With this release GLFW should be fully usable on Wayland, although there are still some issues left to resolve.
